Each year volunteers contribute tens of thousands of hours of service to Land Between The Lakes. Volunteer activities range from trial maintenance and cleanup, to support of special events, monitoring the Elk & Bison Prairie, or assisting with administrative work. Volunteering is a great way to have a meaningful and rewarding experience in the great outdoors at Land Between The Lakes.

Howl-O-Ween – Woodlands Nature Station @ Nature Station

Volunteers needed to help with this Halloween-themed program for young children and their families. Volunteers will be guides for groups of families, leading them along our special woodland trail where the kids will trick-or-treat with costumed animal characters. Volunteers will also help with kids crafts and games.

Fall Fest – Woodlands Nature Station @ Nature Station

Volunteers needed to help with this forest-themed educational event for families. Volunteers will help with activities including: print-making with leaves, paper making, natural dying, hayrides, an afternoon campfire, nature games, and more.

Shoreline Cleanup at Sugar Bay Lake Access @ Sugar Bay Lake Access

We will be cleaning up our shoreline and back country areas. These locations collect a lot of trash from the rising lake levels and need to be picked up annually. If you are looking for a fulfilling day of saving the Earth one piece of trash at a time this is the event for you. Volunteers should dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes and bring a water bottle. Trash bags, gloves, water to refill with and bug spray will be provided. Please keep in mind that locations are subject to change depending on the areas need.

Volunteers needed to help with this event for Cub Scouts. Volunteers will help Cub Scouts work on activities that help them earn several Belt Loop awards. The awards we will be working on this year include: Tiger Cubs: Backyard Jungle Belt Loop; Wolves: Grow Something Belt Loop; Bears: Fur, Feathers, and Ferns Belt Loop; and Webelos: Into the Wild Belt Loop.
